Ever since I was a child, I have loved pastries. My mother used to buy a dozen of them from the local bakery every Sunday after church and my brothers and I would enjoy them for breakfast and later as dessert. As an adult, I still love pastries and, while I can whip up quick dinners on the stove, I never thought I could make my own due to not having much practice baking. When my daughter's school was having a bake sale, I decided to try to bake some to help raise money for her school. I picked a very basic recipe, but the first couple of batches did not turn out how I wanted. I kept practicing, and I finally had a great batch for her to bring to school! I now love baking, and I want to share my tips with other novice bakers out there!
